Michael Valiquette is a multidisciplinary artist, based in Troy, New York. His photo-based practice blends the use of bookmaking and graphic design to examine his sense of identity, which is deeply embedded in his own friction of wanting both to leave and remain in one place. This ongoing tension is depicted throughout his images, which feel as if they're caught between moments that never feel settled.

Valiquette holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena College and works as a Graphic Designer and Photographer at the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). His work is receiving increasing recognition. In 2026, he exhibited in UnBound15! at Candela Gallery and was a selected participant for the prestigious CONTACT Photobook Review. His work was selected for Booooooom's 50 by 50. His work is in both public and private collections nationally and internationally.
